The Discovery of Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation and its Role in Cosmology

Our special guest speaker will be Dr. Robert Wilson. Dr. Wilson won the Nobel prize as a co-discoverer of the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation. He will review the development of cosmology in the first half of the 20th Century, and then the discovery at Bell Labs of the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation by he and Arno Penzias, and close with an overview of the current understanding of our universe.
