This is a Ronchi-gram of a home made 6" f/5 mirror. When parabolized the Ronchi-gram shows a curved pattern like this. This mirror still has some residual zones as the curves contain a noticeable wiggle at about 70% of the radius. After more figuring the mirrorwas declared finished at 1/18th wave!

Gordon Waite makes a tile tool at an ATM session. The pink stuff is dental plaster in which ceramic tiles are embedded. Once cured the tool is used to grind a mirror to a smooth surface of the desired curvature.
