The Astrophotograph of the Month for July

This dramatic photo was taken by Greg Cantrell.
It uses one of an astrophotographer's worst enemies, light pollution,
to create a backdrop for the dark foreground.
The result is a stark, and beautiful composition.
This may be the best possible photographic use of a Baltimore suburb.

Details: Kodak Royal Gold 400, Canon 28-70 f/3.5 zoom at around 35mm,
Canon AE-1 on a tripod with a cable release, f/3.5 for 45 seconds.
