The Astrophotograph of the Month for December

This photograph of M36 is a result of STAR member Steve Walters' first serious attempts
at astrophotography with some new equipment.
Steve obtained this with his Meade 12" SCT, operating at f/5.6
(with a telecompressor in a Lumicon Giant Easy-Guider).
The 12" tube assembly was carried on a Mountain Instruments MI-250 German equatorial mount.
Steve used Kodak E-200 Professional slide film in his Nikon F2,
and had the image scanned onto a Kodak PhotoCD.
Processing was with Picture Window.
Steve's photographs can be seen at his Web Site.
