The Astrophotograph of the Month for April

This photograph of the famous Whirlpool Galaxy, M51,
was taken by STAR member Steve Walters.
This was a composite of 20- and 30-minute exposures on Kodak E-200
taken March 5, 2000, from Greenwood Forest, NJ,
with Steve's 12" Meade SCT operating at f/6.
Guiding was with an SBIG ST-4, through a Lumicon Giant Easy Guider,
on Steve's Mountain Instruments MI-250 mount.
For more of Steve's photographs, see Steve's web site.
