Here are some pictures of the fun at our star party at the Markham Place School in Little Silver, NJ on March 24, 1999. Although we could have used a few more scopes, the star party was very successful. The focus (pun intended) was on a few simple objects, the moon and planets. A good time was had by students, teachers, parents, and S*T*A*R members!

S*T*A*R member Charlie Meeham bought a 13" Coulter Odyssey I. About 100 5th graders and their parents were there (about 200 people, total).

Dan Pontone brought his 18" Obsession, of course. The clear cool night was excellent for introducing the kids (and their moms, dads and teachers) to astronomy.

With that many people and 4 scopes, of course, there were lines at each scope. The first quarter moon was a big hit.

Glenn Mathews & his son ``wowed'' the crowd with Venus. It was a perfect evening for observing.

Saturn was a real show stopper, and Morgan Kavanaugh had 30 people deep to see it.
